I create art to record events that I feel are worthy of remembering. These events are usually personal rather than external in nature though I do attempt to make my personal experiences at least visually understandable to the general public.  I do not feel that every detail of my personal story needs to be known in order for the viewer to appreciate the image. I am concerned with opposition in a technical sense. I enjoy the interplay between positive and negative space, the tension of balance within a composition, and the psychological implications of color choice. My artworks are personal but I intend that they approach a universal chord so that others can relate to my experience. I deal with stories of a psychological and emotional state. Sometimes the smaller more subtle issues are the most complicated to express. Though many have experienced these feelings, few are able to articulate them. This is where I feel my work is at its best, in defining these emotional experiences I am attempting to express how we all have felt at one time or another.
